Cardiff City forward Lee Tomlin has said that there's a 'much better foundation' under Neil Harris ahead of their weekend clash against Barnsley in the Championship.

The 30-year-old has popped up with some important goals for Cardiff this season, and he has played in all three of Neil Harris' first games in charge.

Harris' reign at Cardiff is yet to taste defeat after picking up seven points in the last three game, with back-to-back wins seeing them into 10th-place of the Championship table - only three points behind Preston in 6th.

It's been a fine start to his tenure, and speaking about it to Wales Online, Tomlin said:

"It’s been good, new manager, new ideas and new thoughts. You can see in the past few games how well it’s gone.

"He’s said to go and express yourself. We are all footballers, we all want to play. We defend, attack, be solid as a team and it’s more of a team rather than an individual, stopping men etc.

"So it’s a much better foundation."

Barnsley travel to South Wales in bottom-place of the Championship but they picked up their first win since the opening day, and first under new boss Gerhard Struber, at home to Hull City last weekend.

Harris won't underestimate Barnsley this weekend, but he and the fans will surely be expecting another win in South Wales.

The verdict

Nobody can deny how well Harris has done in his short time at Cardiff. Already he looks to have changed the whole atmosphere around the club, and looks to have a clear and defined vision for the future.

There's a lot of buzz around Cardiff fans at the moment rightly so - a third-straight win at the weekend would be a huge achievement for the club, and would nudge them even closer to the top-six.
