Cardiff City attacker Lee Tomlin has said that he is "enjoying" his time with the Bluebirds, as the South Wales side gear up to face Luton Town this Saturday in the Championship.

It will be Neil Harris's side third game in a week, following on from their midweek penalty shootout defeat to Reading in the FA Cup fourth round replay at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Cardiff are unbeaten in their last four league games, but have become draw specialists in recent times - with six stalemates in their last nine league games.

QUIZ: Are these 15 ex-Cardiff players still playing - yes or no?

Despite Cardiff's recent inconsistent form, one man who has stepped up for them this season is Lee Tomlin.

The 31-year-old attacking midfielder has been in fine form this term for the Bluebirds, with six goals and six assists in 21 Championship games.

His excellent showings were recently rewarded with a new contract in January, and Tomlin has spoken about his time at Cardiff so far this season.

“I’m enjoying it. The manager tells me to go and play every minute," he told the club website.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been this consistent in my career before. Age is just a number. As long as you feel well in yourself and feel ready you can do it. I’m feeling better than I ever have.”

Tomlin has had some fine moments of individual brilliance this season, with the notable highlight being his first-time backheel flick volley assist against Leeds United at Elland Road.

Tomlin also had his say on Saturday's upcoming game.

“They’ve [Luton] got some very good players. We have to take our opportunities though. We need to win.”

The Verdict

Tomlin has to be one of the first names on the teamsheet at Cardiff and was fully deserving of a new contract.

He has scored two goals in his last three Cardiff games, including a superb free-kick against West Bromwich Albion.

He seems to have found his feet at the club, and will want to continue to kick on, starting this Saturday against Luton.
