It's a frustrating time to be a football supporter, with recent off-the-field events calling an abrupt halt to fixtures across the globe.

No scheduled return date has been put in place as of yet, as the relevant authorities continue to monitor developments across the UK before coming to a decision on when the sporting calendar will get back underway.

Cardiff City will be hoping they can finish this year's campaign strongly when football does return, with Neil Harris' side in with a chance of a top-six finish this term.

The Bluebirds are currently sat ninth in the Championship table, and are just two points adrift of the play-off places, with nine matches remaining in this year's campaign.

One player that has played a key role for Cardiff in their bid for a top-six finish is Lee Tomlin, who has chipped in with seven goals and seven assists in his 25 appearances in all competitions.

Tomlin has been with Cardiff since 2017, after signing from Bristol City. He has previously been on the books with the likes of AFC Bournemouth and Middlesbrough.

The Verdict:

I think we can all agree with him here!

Tomlin has really impressed me with Cardiff City this season, and he's going to be a key player for the Bluebirds in the final nine games of this term, as they battle to fight their way into the play-off positions.

The attacking-midfielder will be desperate to win promotion this season, as he'll be keen for one more shot in the Premier League before his best days are beyond him.

Football should only return when it is deemed safe enough to do so though.
