Cardiff City attacker Lee Tomlin has sent a message to teammate Lee Peltier after the full-back celebrated his five-year anniversary with the club.

He has become a firm fan favourite during his time in South Wales, remaining one of their most consistent performers, but after he sent his lengthy message one or two fans thought he was declairing his departure from the club.

However, Tomlin was on hand to clear that up, as well as send his personal message to Peliter.

Taking to Twitter in response, Tomlin wrote: "You ain’t going anywhere you are mr Cardiff 💙💪🏻."

In his tweet, Peliter pays tribute to the fans and mentions that the promotion to the Premier League under Neil Warnock's stewardship in 2018 remained the best moment of his career.

During his five years with the club, the 33-year-old has racked up 163 appearances, providing three assists in that time, having previously had spells with Leeds United, Leicester City and Huddersfield Town.

He has played in all but three of the Bluebirds' league games so far this season as they struggle to trouble the play-offs, currently sat in 13th place with seven points between themselves and the play-offs.

The verdict

What is clear from this is that Peltier is a hugely respected figure, not just among the fans, but also among the players in the dressing room.

I am pretty confident in saying that had the full-back not been there this season, despite his advanced age, the Bluebirds will have been even worse off.

It has been far from a great season for them by any means but fans should take heart from the fact that there are still plenty of top characters amongst the squad.
