Former Bristol City manager Lee Johnson singled out Tyreeq Bakinson and Antoine Semenyo for praise when appearing on EFL on Quest earlier this week.

The Robins have stuttered a little bit in recent weeks in the Sky Bet Championship but are still in the top six and will be eager to make the play-offs this season after missing out on more than one occasion under former boss Johnson.

He was commenting after their defeat to Bournemouth in the Championship last night, then, and reserved special praise for two of the club's younger players who impressed even if the final result was not what they would have wanted.

He said:

“I thought they were very good first half and it was great to see as the previous manager to see young players that have been developed by the club in the form of Tyreeq Bakinson and Antoine Semenyo playing extremely well.”

The Verdict

The Robins have brought through some good young players in recent years and are reaping the rewards at the moment with a handful of them involved in the first-team.

The Robins have had a good squad for a while now but it's all about getting over the line for them this season, as they try and make it to the Premier League.

Dean Holden is now the man tasked with helping them achieve that, then, and he'll be looking to snap them out of this brief lull in form after starting the campaign firmly on the front foot.
