The 2015/16 season was arguably a successful one for Bristol City.

When joining one of the hardest leagues in the world last summer, the Championship, City would have established their primary aim as avoiding relegation.

Having achieved that, it comes with many bonuses. The Robins are now a more established Championship side than they were last time this season. With that, comes a more inviting prospect as a club and therefore players will be more likely to join the club.

Last summer was an agonising one for Bristol City in the transfer market as they missed out on some key signings. For example, Andre Gray snubbed a move to Ashton Gate in order to join Burnley.

However, this summer is totally different kettle of fish under Lee Johnson. His established side will be able to attract higher calibre players in order to push up the table next season.

The signing of ex-Premier League midfielder Gary O'Neil is a good example of that and will certainly be an added talent to the side for next season.

Having said that, City also have a whole host of talent already at the club. The side that saw them promoted from League One as champions included many young talent that prove to be very promising.

However, the relegation fight that took place towards the end of last season meant that the Robins were more inclined to choose reliability and experience over youth.

Now their Championship status is far less precarious than this time last season, youth could be the way forward to move the club forward next season.

Here are THREE young stars Lee Johnson should look to use next season...

Bobby Reid

The 23-year-old midfielder will certainly be a player who Johnson should use next season.

Since joining the first team in 2011, he has made a total of 58 appearances as well as loan spells at lower league clubs in order to continue his progression.

He proved to be of great worth last season as he made a total of 29 appearances in both cup and league.

As a result, Reid would have gained a whole host of knowledge from his step up to the second tier of English football. Thus, he should be expected to flourish even more next season if Johnson were to use him to good effect.

Joe Bryan

Like Reid, Bryan has also spent time out on loan at lower league sides in order to continue his progression after graduating from the youth set up at the club.

The 22 year old had a good season at the Championship side last season as he completed with a total of 7 assists and 3 goals.

The fact that he appeared 39 times in total for the Robins last season clearly shows just how much of an asset Bryan has become to the side.

His versatility as either a left back or left midfielder has proved invaluable for the club and Johnson should certainly look to use him just as much next season.

Wes Burns

At the age of 21, Wes Burns is a player that has risen through the ranks at Bristol City.

He spent the most part of last season on loan at League One side Fleetwood Town. During his time with the League One side, he managed to hit the back of the net 5 times in 14 appearances.

He also totted up the same number of games for City until he has shipped out on loan to Fleetwood in February.

Despite being on loan for the back end of last season, Burns is definitely a player that Johnson should look to use next season.

He energy and pace could prove difficult for defenders to deal with in latter stages of matches and the progression of Burns will only continue if he is given a significant amount of game time.
