Replacing Tammy Abraham at Bristol City has, and will continue to be, the talk of the summer in the West Country city.

The Chelsea loanee was in scintillating form last season, and struck 23 goals across 40 Championship starts last term.

Without his input, it is likely that the Robins would be competing in League One next season.

Replacing Abraham’s goals will be manager Lee Johnson’s priority this summer, and the relegation battle will be much harder if the 19-year-old’s strikes are not replaced in the coming months.

Johnson will need to bring in a couple of forwards this summer to ensure his side are injected with goals, and one man who should be considered is Motherwell forward Louis Moult.

The Stoke City academy graduate spent much of his early playing days in the Football League, before dropping into non-league football with Nuneaton Town and Wrexham.

A move to the SPLF has invigorated his career, and a switch back to the EFL looks likely this summer.

Moult has a year remaining on his contract in Scotland so City will have to stump up a fee for the player, but with funds still available from Jonathan Kodjia’s big money move to Aston Villa last summer, this shouldn’t be a problem.

25-year-old Moult has worked hard since being released from Stoke’s Premier League academy, and deserves a chance to prove himself in England’s second tier.

If Johnson affords Moult the opportunity, he is sure to be rewarded for his gamble.
