Bristol City will be looking to make it four Championship wins on the spin this Friday evening as Birmingham City make the trip to Ashton Gate.

The Robins have produced a series of battling performances in their last two league games - 1-0 wins away from home against QPR and Reading respectively, and the team will be on a roll after three consecutive clean sheets.

The BS3 side currently sit in sixth place in the table, three points clear of Preston North End, and level on points with Brentford.

A win for Lee Johnson's side could move them up to third.

Ahead of the big game, Lee Johnson faced the press to discuss the current injury situation at the football club, as reported by the Bristol Post.

QUIZ: Can you name the last twelve Bristol City men to wear the No. 9 shirt?

The Robins boss said that Tomas Kalas is progressing well from his injury, but questioned his own judgement on possibly bringing the Czech back too soon.

"Tomas is in a good place. With the signing of [Filip] Benkovic, one of the question marks I’ve had of myself is did we throw Tomas back in too early? He’s such a warrior."

He added that Marley Watkins will also not be available for the Birmingham clash. The wide man has missed Bristol City's last three league games, sustaining an injury against Wigan Athletic at the beginning of January.

"Marley is still a couple of weeks away. He’s probably at least two weeks away from getting out on the grass."

Johnson also discussed the fitness of Andi Weimann and Jack Hunt.

"Weimann had a dead leg, Hunt is probably 50/50," he added.

The Verdict

The addition of Filip Benkovic will prove to be a handy signing from the get-go as Tomas Kalas may not yet be ready to feature against Birmingham this Friday.

Marley Watkins will also be a miss for the next few games, as the winger has shown his quality when he has featured this season for the Robins.

It also remains to be seen if Andi Weimann will both be ready in time.
