Lee Johnson has stated that you can ‘never say never in football’ when asked about Josh Brownhill’s potential Bristol City departure.
There has been speculation flying around over the past few days that have suggested that Robins midfielder Brownhill could well be on his way out of the club and heading to Premier League side, Burnley.
Bristol City supporters will be hoping that he doesn’t depart the club as it could well make a major dent in their ambition to make the Championship play-offs this season.
The Robins wouldn’t just miss one of their best players, but they’d also be losing their captain.
Johnson has expressed that he doesn’t envisage any big sales in this current window but admitted that you can never rule anything out.
Speaking to Bristol Live, when asked about the Brownhill rumours, Johnson said: “There’s always going to be speculation about our players because we’ve got a young side and any Premier League side will be looking at Championship players that are under 23 or 24.
“You can never say never in football but I don’t envisage any big sales.”

Bristol City will be hoping that they can keep him until at least the end of the season. Brownhill is a very good player, and as he’s young there is still time for him to get even better.
The midfielder has to keep his head down and not let this speculation effect the way he’s been playing. If he is to stay then that would be a boost in itself for the Robins.
Johnson’s comments suggest he isn’t 100% certain that the player will stay at the club but more he hopes that there isn’t any big sales.
