Lee Johnson has expressed that he thinks Bristol City need to get ‘a couple in’ over the last few weeks of the January transfer window.
The Robins have struggled to get in any new faces over the window so far, and with the play-offs in touching distance the feeling is that a few more additions could propel them into the top six.
Supporters of the club now have to wait and see if anything is to come of the last days of the transfer window, although the club did earn a much needed victory on Saturday.
Johnson has expressed the need for a couple of new recruits and has stated that it would going the extra mile financially to do so.
Speaking to Bristol Live, Johnson said: “I think we need to get a couple in. I think that you need quality, not quantity and that’s the problem because there isn’t a lot.
“You’ve got to either go the extra mile financially to do it, whether that be on a long term or a short term, or you’ve got to stick with what you’ve got and promote from within.”

The Robins have had a good season so far but there is a lot of potential for Bristol City to achieve their aim of getting into the top six if they can get a few more signings into the club over the last few days of the window.
They’re in need of a striker as at times they look slightly blunt in the forward line when faced up against sides that are defensively organised.
Johnson knows how crucial these weeks are and in these comments he’s almost calling out Mark Ashton to get a move on.
