Sunderland face a tricky test as they travel to take on Crewe Alexandra this weekend.

The Black Cats are in an excellent run of form at the moment as they look to kick on in their push to secure promotion to the Championship.

Of course there's a long way to go but the most important thing is that they just keep winning games.

For that to happen the Wearsiders will need to manage their squad effectively to ensure that they're doing enough to compete in each game, but what decisions need to be made?

Here are some of the dilemmas facing Lee Johnson.

Central midfield

Lee Johnson seems to have settled on line-up but the central midfield area is one where he has lots of options.

Max Power and Grant Leadbitter seem to be the first choice options but with Carl Winchester and Josh Scowen waiting in the wings there's a chance that he could freshen things up.

Whether Johnson will or not, however, remains to be seen.

Jordan Jones

The Rangers man has had a frustrating start to life with Sunderland.

Through no fault of his own Jones has found it hard to break into the starting XI due to the form of Aiden McGeady but perhaps it's time to give him a chance to shine.

He's been impressive off the bench and so fans will be keen to see what he can do.

Freshening up the attack

Sunderland's attack has been one of their real strengths of late.

Charlie Wyke and Aiden O'Brien have proven themselves as one of the most feared partnerships in the division and so they're pretty much undroppable at the moment.

However with lots of games still to play it'll be interesting to see if Lee Johnson looks to rest either of the duo in the coming weeks.
