Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has explained why central midfielder Adam Nagy was missing from the midweek trip to Reading, as the Robins picked up a valuable three points.

FLW Chief Editor Sam Rourke reported on Twitter that the away gaffer had revealed that the Hungarian was sat on the sidelines due to a reoccurence of his ankle injury, and that an operation wasn't required.

The midfielder was forced to sit on the sidelines for a three-month spell between August and November, as the summer signing had to watch on as his team-mates battled for a playoff spot before making his return in the Severnside derby win over Cardiff City.

Since returning to the squad, the midfielder has been forced to play through the pain barrier of his ankle injury, as he has played a starring role as the midfield pivot in a midfield two or midfield three since being restored to the starting lineup.
