Stoke City recorded back-to-back league wins for the first time in almost 12 months, after beating promotion contenders Fulham by two goals to nil at the weekend.

The Potters have endured a tough start to the season but finally managed to pick up their first win of the season against high-flying Swansea City before the international break.

Saturday afternoon presented yet another tough test for Nathan Jones’ side, as they prepared to come up against a Fulham outfit that have made an impressive start to the campaign.

But an early strike from Tyrese Campbell, and a late penalty kick from Lee Gregory secured an invaluable win for Stoke, and it rounded off what had been a magnificent performance from the hosts.

After playing his part in helping Stoke pick up their second win of the season, Gregory took to Instagram to congratulate strike partner Campbell, on scoring his first Championship goal.

Stoke will be looking to make it three wins from their last three games tomorrow night, as they prepare to take on Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

The Verdict

What a win that was for Stoke - that was arguably their best performance of the season so far and they thoroughly deserved to claim all three points.

Gregory has been one of Stoke’s best players this season, and his work-rate and desire up top is finally being rewarded with a couple of goals.

He looked really dangerous alongside Campbell at the weekend, and with Scott Hogan waiting in the wings too, the competition can only be beneficial for Stoke.
