Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has provided an injury update ahead of his side's home clash with Rochdale this weekend.

The Addicks could potentially move up to 3rd spot should results go their way this weekend, which would give them home advantage for the second leg of the play-offs.

Bowyer's men go into the fixture full of confidence, having lost just one of their last 14 games in the league, and winning five of their last five games in front at the Valley.

But if the London club are to pick up another invaluable three points this weekend, they will have to do so without midfielder Jonathan Williams, with Bowyer confirming in his pre-match press conference that the Welshman would be out of action this weekend.

The 25-year old, who has made just 17 appearances for the Addicks this season, was taken off in the 2-0 win over Gillingham in the 78th minute last weekend, and is their only injury concern going into the weekend.

Charlton go into the weekend sitting 5th in the Sky Bet League One table, two points off 3rd placed Portsmouth and level on points with Sunderland.

The Verdict

Charlton will no doubt be looking to end their regular season off with a win this weekend, and it is important that they build momentum going into the play-offs.

It has been another tough season for Williams in terms of injuries, and you have to feel for the diminutive playmaker.

His experience will be key going into the play-offs, so Charlton fans will be hoping that this injury is only a minor one.
