Charlton Athletic certainly put their fans through the mill on Tuesday evening in Sky Bet League One as they played out a 4-4 draw with Rochdale at The Valley.

The Addicks were looking to bounce back from their loss at home to Accrington but started slowly and found themselves 4-2 down at half-time.

A fight-back got them level with 20 minutes to play but neither side could find a winner.

Promisingly for Lee Bowyer, January signing Ronnie Schwartz got his first goal for his new club and, after the game, attention turned to whether more signings would soon follow.

It appears, though, that nothing is particularly imminent as things stand:

The Verdict

Schwartz came on during the second-half and quickly linked up well with Chuks Aneke which could be promising for the future.

Liam Millar also did well as he showed his pace and ball-carrying ability throughout the game and so the hope will be the January arrivals can bring something new to the side once they've fully bedded in.

Meanwhile, though, it sounds as though Bowyer has no imminent plans to sign other players - though he'd surely like to - and it remains to be seen whether anything budges between now and the deadline.
