Lee Bowyer has stated that the officials cost his Charlton side on Tuesday night after they disallowed a goal for offside.

The Addicks are currently enduring a horrible run and have failed to win in any of their last nine matches, a run of games that has seen them drop down to 17th in the Championship table.

On Tuesday night things got worse for Bowyer's side as Huddersfield managed to snatch a stoppage time winner to ensure that they came away with all three points from the Valley.

Bowyer has blamed the officials for the defeat, and has claimed that Charlton looked the more likely side to win the game.

Speaking to Charlton's official website, Bowyer said: "It’s difficult to take again. We score a goal that gets disallowed for offside - He’s not offside.

"I don’t know what to say. The officials have cost us tonight and then they go and get one at the end. In the second half it only looked like one team was going to win it and that was us. We were on the front foot. And yet we’ve come away with nothing."

The Verdict

It's going to be a really interesting second-half of the season for Charlton, and they really need to start focusing on getting away from any potential danger of relegation.

Bowyer did a fantastic job last season, but with all the injuries piled up on him, he hasn't been able to continue that brilliant run from earlier in the season, and have since dipped dramatically.

Potentially the manager should try out a new system in order to find a way of just getting any old victory. The Addicks host Hull on Friday night, and they'll have to be at their best to beat a strong Tigers side.
