Charlton manager, Lee Bowyer, has given his view on the rumours surrounding his job after his odds dramatically dropped to be the next Huddersfield boss.

The Addicks boss has had an excellent start to the season since his side gained promotion from League One. They currently remain unbeaten in the division and sit in 3rd place.

However, Huddersfield are currently winless and sit second from bottom with just one point from their opening five games. The club sacked former boss, Jan Siewert, after he won just one game during his brief stint at the club.

Charlton take on Reading this weekend in their last game before the international break hoping that they can break into the automatic places.

Speaking to London News Online about the odds shortening, Bowyer said: “I don’t know why – because I don’t know anything about it. Everyone just goes on the odds and think ‘but that means he is leaving’.

“So it’s crazy. I’ve not heard anything. Nothing has come through to me.

“It’s flattering but at the end of the day we have turned things around a bit here.

“I haven’t spoken to my agent and he hasn’t called me. So I don’t know where it has come from.”

The Verdict

It's an interesting one as despite Charlton's excellent start to the season, Bowyer remained coy on the potential move to Huddersfield.

It would be a massive loss for the Addicks and could see them go back to square one. I think it would be a huge disruption after the excellent start to the season and one that the fans would be so disappointed with.

Personally, I can't see him moving but it wouldn't be to surprising to see after the summer's fiasco with Charlton owner, Roland Dutchatelet.

It'll be interesting to see whether the Charlton players let any speculation get to them, and if they can continue their fine run of form away at Reading on Saturday.
