Charlton manager Lee Bowyer has said the club need to be 'careful' not to rush Lyle Taylor back into the starting lineup too soon, as the Addicks take on Hull City at The Valley this Saturday.
The 29-year-old striker has featured in the last two games for Charlton off the bench, playing a total of 66 minutes against both Middlesbrough and Huddersfield.
In each game, Taylor has come through unscathed. In spite of that, it is clear that the striker is not yet at 100%, after making minimal impact for the team on both occasions.
Speaking in his pre-match press-conference, Lee Bowyer was cautious when asked if Taylor was able to start against Hull, effectively ruling it out.
"Lyle will be involved again on Friday. We have to be careful with him and do things the right way," he said.
"I would love to see him start, but I have to take the advice of the medical staff. You can see what a difference he makes for us.”
The upcoming game will be a test to see how well Taylor's body can hold up, in what could be his third time featuring for Charlton in the space of seven days.

The Verdict
Bowyer is keen to get Taylor back up to speed as soon as he can, as he knows that the striker can improve the side's current fortunes with his individual quality in attack.
Although the Charlton boss has ruled out starting Taylor from the outset against Hull, he will be counting on him to get back to full match sharpness as soon as he can.
It is likely that the 29-year-old will get another 20-minute cameo appearance for the Addicks. Attacking midfielder Jonny Williams could also return to the Charlton bench barring any setbacks.
