Lee Bowyer has stated that clubs will definitely come in for Charlton striker Lyle Taylor, and it's a question of whether or not they can keep him.

The forward managed to pick up five goals throughout August, which had him right up there in terms of the Championship goal-scoring charts.

However, an injury setback during the international break that followed meant that Taylor has only recently returned to the match day squad.

It's a big boost for the Addicks, with Bowyer highlighting his importance to the side on several occasions. Charlton are without a win in nine games now, and they'll need Taylor back to his best to ensure that they don't get dragged into a relegation battle.

Bowyer has claimed that clubs in the division will want him, and he knows that they'll come in for the prolific forward.

Speaking to News Shopper, Bowyer said: “The question is if we can keep him, not if clubs will come in for him.

“Clubs all know what he can do before the start of this season.

“He’s showed he can score goals in this division and that’s what teams want."

The Verdict

It's a really big January for Charlton, arguably more so than any other team in the division. The Addicks have to improve on their squad and ensure that they have enough depth to be able to deal with their injury problems.

Taylor is a player that most Championship sides would want and he has shown the ability to do it at this level and looks like he could go on to be a good Premier League striker in the future.

Charlton take on Hull this Friday and will need Taylor to be up for the fixture in order to try and help with the three points.
