Charlton will be looking to finish this season as strongly as possible as they look set to embark on another play-off challenge.

The Addicks have kept those above them in the race for the top two very honest this season and will fancy their chances of making a trip to Wembley after falling short last year.

It will be tough, though, and what might not be helping matters at the moment is the continued uncertainty around manager Lee Bowyer.

The Addicks' boss would appear to want to stay at the club and a contract seemed in the offing but, in a frustrating update for many connected with the side, it appears things have gone quiet:

The Verdict

Bowyer is quickly becoming one of the better young managers in the EFL and in recent weeks we have seen speculation grow around his future.

It does look as though the Addicks are still in the driving seat in terms of keeping him at the club but things appear to have stalled in recent weeks.

Certainly, this will be a source of frustration for fans who want to see him stay, and until he has signed a deal there will be continued concern around the situation.
