Lee Bowyer has stated that Jonny Williams and Sam Field should both be fit enough involved in Charlton's next fixture against QPR.

Williams and Field have both been out since mid-October as they picked up injuries against Derby County and Bristol City, respectively.

Both have been big losses and have been part of the on-going injury crisis that has occurred for Lee Bowyer's squad. At times, the Addicks have been forced to name just six substitutes for their fixtures, something that has clearly effected results as they are now ten games without a victory.

Bowyer has expressed that both should return to training this week, and have a good chance of featuring against QPR next Saturday.

Speaking to News Shopper, Bowyer said: "Jonny will start training with us on Monday, then he’ll be ready for the weekend.

"As long as he gets through training all week.

"Sam comes back to us on Wednesday, he’s been training with West Brom outdoors for a while.

"Hopefully if he’s good Thursday and Friday he’ll be in the squad for QPR."

Charlton were left frustrated in their last game after they drew 2-2 with Hull City on Friday evening in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The Verdict

Charlton have suffered a number of injuries so far this season and will have been feeling very much relieved to be seeing these players come back and bolster their squad for the future.

The Addicks have been so poor of late and need to improve if they're going to avoid falling into the trap of a relegation battle. Bowyer has a good squad at his disposal but he has to find a way to make sure the club bolster's their options in the January window to ensure enough players to cope with injuries.

Next up, the Addicks travel to an inconsistent QPR side, where they'll be hoping to earn their first victory since October.
