Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer says he cannot understand why Bradford City are at the bottom of the League One table.

The Addicks boss was speaking to the media ahead of his side's game with the Bantams at The Valley on Saturday.

The Charlton boss spoke quite highly of his opposition, saying that they have a lot of good players who can hurt teams.

Charlton are currently fifth in the League One table, but have a nine-point lead over seventh-placed Peterborough United and look set to finish the season in the play-off places.

Lee Bowyer's side are unbeaten in their last seven games and appear to be finding form at the right time.

Meanwhile, Bradford are bottom of the table, six points from safety, having won just two of their last 13 matches in the competition.

The Verdict:

Lee Bowyer is right. Bradford have got some good attacking players in their team but as he pointed out, they conceded a lot of goals as well and this is a big part of the reason why they are in a relegation battle.

The Bantams have conceded 67 goals in League One this season - only 22nd-placed Rochdale have conceded more.

If Gray Bowyer's side are to stand any chance of remaining in the division, their defensive record has to improve.
