Charlton will be hoping to continue their scintillating recent form when their focus turns to the FA Cup on Saturday.

Lee Bowyer's men host Plymouth tomorrow and come into the first-round clash looking for a seventh consecutive win in all competitions.

The Addicks came out on top in a five-goal thriller against Fleetwood in midweek - a result which saw Charlton move level on points with second-placed Ipswich and now just three points adrift of leaders Peterborough.

However, following that victory, Bowyer has learned of some bad news to on-loan Norwich City defender Akin Famewo.

Famewo has missed Charlton's previous two League One matches with a hamstring problem and Addicks boss Bowyer has revealed that the 21-year-old is expected to miss around a month of action.

"We’ve been told he will be around four weeks," Bowyer told South London Press. "We don’t know if he will be that long, but that’s the indication from the medical team.

"For such a young lad he is a real winner. His attitude has been spot on. I’ve been really impressed with him."

The Verdict

This is obviously a major blow for Charlton.

Famewo has made seven appearances since making the loan switch from Norwich, and the Addicks have kept six clean sheets in that period, suffering just once defeat.

However, Bowyer's men have already proved they can cope without Famewo, having won the two matches he's missed against Portsmouth and Fleetwood - and they'll be hoping that will continue over the next month whilst he's sidelined.
