Queens Park Rangers fans were treated to an untimely throwback on Twitter yesterday.
The EFL’s official account shared a video of QPR’s 7-1 loss at West Brom at the beginning of last season.
Steve McClaren’s side had lost their opening two games of the season, but going into half-time at The Hawthorns with the scoreline at 1-1, they had a chance of get off the mark in the Championship.

But in a way that only a McClaren team could do so, QPR conceded six second-half goals, before losing their next game 3-0 at home to Bristol City and confirming their worst start to a league season in over 50 years.
The club has made good progress since then – at the start of the year, Mark Warburton’s side almost racked up the same scoreline when they beat Cardiff 6-1 at home.
Though the memories of that Hawthorns demolition still ring true, and here’s how they remembered that day on Twitter:

😂 I remember going in at halftime 1-1 thinking we’d have a chance at a draw or to scrape a win..😂
