League Two hotshot set to be dropped amid transfer speculation

Newport County manager Graham Westley is set to drop Rhys Healey from the team amid transfer speculation linking him with a move to Plymouth Argyle, according to Wales Online.

Rhys Healey revealed that Plymouth Argyle had enquired about the availability of him joining the Pilgrims after his loan expires with Newport in January.

Healey is currently on loan from Cardiff City and has netted six times in the league for the Welsh outfit as they continue to struggle in League Two.

The 22-year-old has been a real gem in the rough for Newport County but he could lose his place in the side because Westley is set to drop his star striker.

This news comes in spite of Healey insisting that he is not going to let the speculation affect him as his focus is on the pitch.

Healey’s loan deal expires with the Exiles in January and Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has previously said he is happy for him to stay out on loan at Rodney Parade but it appears that Westley is set to ruin those chances by dropping him for Newport’s crucial game against Morecambe.

Newport fans – are you annoyed by this news? Should Westley play Healey? Can you still sign him on loan? Let us know in the comments below…
