Reliable journalist Alan Nixon has tweeted that Grimsby Town want Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker on loan.
Walker has 21 Championship appearances to his name for Forest, but has spent time on loan in Leagues One and Two over the last couple of seasons.
Last season, the 20 year old spent the first half of the season on loan at Stevenage, bagging 4 goals in 9 games for Darren Sarll’s men. Walker then joined Port Vale on loan in January, finding the net on 2 occasions in six League One outings.
The striker also helped Burton Albion to promotion in 2016, spending the final three months of the 2015/16 campaign at the Pirelli Stadium, which saw the Brewers clinch promotion to the second tier.
Grimsby lost their main source of goals in January, when frontman Omar Bogle – who’d bagged 38 goals in two seasons with the Mariners – joined Wigan Athletic. This summer, boss Russell Slade has a tough job in restoring the goalscoring power that the Grimsby side once had, but Forest youngster Tyler Walker has League Two experience and could be a decent addition to the team.
