Sheffield United will be looking to capture some new blood in the summer and add some quality to their squad ahead of another campaign which is more than likely going to be in the Championship.

The Blades, who could well still make a bid for promotion through the playoffs, will be looking to manager Chris Wilder to pull a few more rabbits out of the hat, and one player we feel he could look to sign from League One is Portsmouth forward Brett Pitman.

The impressive 30-year-old has been in excellent form for Pompey this term as they have chased a playoff spot, firing in 19 goals for the south coast club and looking like he is back to his best.

Pitman has always been capable of bagging goals, and he appears to have found his feet once again with Pompey, meaning he will no doubt be drawing admiring glances from the Championship.

With the Blades needing to add goals to their team, and Karanka being known as a manager who builds from the defence first, the signing of someone like Pitman - who should guarantee at least 15 goals - would be an excellent summer capture for the club.

Reds fans, what do you think? Would you take Pitman? Let us know in the comments!
