Sunderland look to be on their way out of the Sky Bet Championship and on course for a second successive relegation, with the club having a nightmare campaign all in all.

The Black Cats, led by manager Chris Coleman, will be hoping for a positive summer in terms of transfers and movement in the market, and if they do dip into League One, Coleman will  no doubt be looking to pick up some players who he feels know the league and can do the business.

With a summer clear out more than likely on the cards, there is going to be plenty of room in the squad for new faces, and one man we at FLW think could be an excellent signing for the club is pacey forward Devante Cole.

Cole only moved to Wigan in January, but has become anything but a regular for the Latics, and has been linked with moves to big clubs before, such as Sheffield United last summer.

The pacey forward, who is the son of former Man United legend Andrew Cole, has bags of potential in the locker, but he does not see to have quite fulfilled it just yet. However, 10 goals once again this term have been a decent return for the forward, and the chance of playing for a club the size of Sunderland could be something he does not want to turn down.

Quick, a good finisher, and no doubt eager to prove himself, Cole would no doubt prove to be an excellent capture for the Black Cats.
