Sky Bet League One got off to a scintillating start at the weekend as fans finally returned to stadiums up and down the country after a long period in the shadows.

Newly promoted Morecambe arguably picked up the result of the day as they earnt a hard fought 2-2 draw away to promotion favourites Ipswich Town, whilst another promoted side, Bolton Wanderers, played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at home to MK Dons.

There was also wins in the divisions for the likes of AFC Wimbledon, Portsmouth, Rotherham United, Burton Albion, Wycombe Wanderers and Sunderland.

Whilst two of the other promotion favourites in Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday played out a goalless draw at the Valley in the late kick off on Saturday.

Clubs up and down the league will now be keen to strengthen their squads before the window closes at the end of the month, with many scrambling to complete last minute deals.

Here, we round up all of the latest transfer news from around League One that has surfaced in recent days.

Birmingham City man set for move

Birmingham striker Sam Cosgrove is set to complete a loan move to Shrewsbury Town in the near future, as per a recent post on Twitter by football journalist Alan Nixon.

The 24-year-old frontman has largely struggled to hit any sort of form since his move to the Midlands from Aberdeen back in January and is now set for a spell away from the club.

Several other Football League sides have been linked with a move for the big target man, however it appears that the Shrews have now won the race for his signature.

Cosgrove has failed to score in any of his 12 appearances for Birmingham so far.

Sunderland to complete deal

Nixon has also taken to Twitter to claim that Sunderland are on the verge of signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Dennis Cirkin.

As previously reported by Football Insider, the club have agreed a six figure fee with the Premier League side for the youngster and hope to announce a deal imminently.

The signing of Cirkin will add to Sunderland's left back options at a time when they need greater depth moving forwards.

Cirkin has been with Spurs for his entire career but is yet to have made a first team appearance.

Ipswich Town eye Derby County player

Ipswich Town are said to be eyeing up a move for Derby County midfielder Graeme Shinnie this summer, as per a recent report by the Ipswich Star.

The club are said to view the Scotsman as the ideal transfer alternative for their original target Joe Morrell, who joined Portsmouth from Luton Town instead of the Tractor Boys.

Shinnie is now 30-years-old and is into the final year of his contract at Pride Park, which means that the Rams could be keen to cash in.

The addition of Shinnie would add further to Ipswich's midfield options after the signings of Rekeem Harper, Lee Evans and Scott Fraser earlier this summer.
