League One midfielder joins: 3 realistic signings Grimsby Town should try snap up this week

Grimsby Town have been one of the form teams in League Two, proving that sticking by a manager through a tough patch can pay dividends.

They tried sticking by Russell Slade last season and almost suffered a return to the National League, but Michael Jolley has settled in nicely after a tough start.

His side tumbled down the early League Two table, but in recent weeks they’ve looked composed and assured. The belief is returning to the players and there’s a real hope that the Mariners have finally turned a corner.

They’ll be hoping for a couple of new faces in the transfer window, sensible recruits that complement the squad they already have. In previous years managers have frittered away the chance to bring in new players by casting the net wide and catching nothing but plankton.

Jolley is different, he’ll be much more careful with his budget, which is why we’ve tried to help him by identifying three players who could do a job for the Mariners.
