Cheltenham Town will not be signing striker Timmy Abraham on loan from Fulham this summer, a report from Gloucestershire Live has revealed.

Abraham has been on trial with Cheltenham in the past few weeks, and has scored twice in three friendlies for last season's League Two champions, who are now preparing for life in League One.

But despite those goals, it seems Abraham will not be remaining with the Robins for the rest of the 2021/22 campaign.

According to this latest update, Cheltenham will not be making a move to sign Abraham on a temporary basis this summer, with Michael Duff's side seemingly now exploring other targets.

A graduate of Fulham's academy, Abraham has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Cottagers, although he has experienced senior football during loan spells with Bristol Rovers, Plymouth and Raith Rovers.

It remains to be seen whether Abraham will now join another club on loan this summer after missing out on that move to Cheltenham.

The Verdict

This is an interesting one to consider for all involved.

Abraham does have a fairly impressive return from those friendlies for Cheltenham, and he is clearly a promising player, so you could have understood it if the Robins had looked to sign the striker on loan.

Indeed, given it is hard to see Abraham forcing his way into Fulham's first-team next season, a loan move away to get senior football could have made sense.

As a result, it is slightly surprising that a loan move has not materialised here, although it is worth remembering that it is possible that is not down to footballing reasons.
