Burton Albion are interested in signing Plymouth Argyle star Graham Carey in the summer, according to reliable journalist Alan Nixon.
The 30-year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or on the left side of midfield, has been a fantastic servant for the Devon club since his arrival from Ross County in 2015.
The Irishman has scored 49 goals in over 190 games for the Pilgrims, and played an influential role in helping into League One in the 2016/17 campaign, and finished this season on six goals and 11 assists for the campaign.
But Argyle are a club in limbo following their relegation to League Two this season, and go into the summer managerless having let go of Derek Adams towards the end of the season.
And now, reports claim that the Brewers are looking at signing Carey on a free transfer this summer, with his current deal set to expire at Home Park at the end of the month.
BURTON. Young Clough in the race for Carey at PLYMOUTH. Useful free agent.

Fellow Argyle star Ruben Lameiras is also attracting interest on a free transfer elsewhere, with Swansea and Bordeaux looking at signing the exciting playmaker.
It would be a real kick in the teeth if Argyle were to lose their star-man on a free transfer in the summer, especially to a club who aren’t much bigger than them at all.
Carey has been an excellent signing for Plymouth, and is too good to be playing in League Two this season, so a move to League One probably does await the Irishman.
On a free transfer, this would be incredible business by Burton, and a real coup for Nigel Clough’s side.
