Speaking to the Athletic, Nottingham Forest star Matty Cash has said that his priority and focus has always been the Reds with speculation growing over his future this season.

The young Reds ace has been a real star this season and, arguably, the club's best player with the way he has performed under Sabri Lamouchi.

That, perhaps naturally, though, has caused interest with the Athletic referring to the likes of Italian giants AC Milan being linked with a move for him not so long ago.

Indeed, if Forest do not get into the Premier League at the end of the campaign, it remains to be seen what becomes of Cash but, in words that will please fans of the Tricky Trees, it appears he remains fully focused on his current club, and has been throughout the speculation.

He said:

“My priority and focus has always been Forest. I always wanted to stay here, I never wanted to go.

“I am not in a bad place. You want to enjoy your football and we are doing really well here. We have a chance. There is nothing better about playing football every week, in a team that is doing well.”

The Verdict

He's certainly shown himself to be enjoying things at the moment at the City Ground with a number of stellar performances this year.

He's made innumerable appearances in the EFL Team of the Week throughout the campaign and sealing his season with promotion would be fitting, let's see if they can do it - if and when they get the chance.
