Sunderland's EFL Trophy defeat to Scunthorpe United was a real blow for the supporters.

Things haven't gone to plan since Phil Parkinson took over as manager of the Black Cats, with the former Bolton boss winning just two of his eight games since taking charge.

So while fans were a little disgruntled before, a 3-0 defeat to the League Two strugglers made totally sure that they were completely unhappy.

It's been Sunderland's attack that has attracted the bulk of the criticism in recent weeks, with a lack of cutting edge in front of goal costing the Black Cats on numerous occasions.

Parkinson's side dominated the clash with Gillingham in the FA Cup on Saturday, but were unable to turn their dominance into shots on goal, and crucially, goals.
