Bolton Wanderers chairman Ken Anderson has offered an update on the sale of the club, and has played down any rumours regarding potential buyers from Turkey and Russia, in a recent club statement.
The Lancashire club are in turmoil on and off the pitch, with Phil Parkinson's men sitting three points adrift of safety in the Sky Bet Championship table, and sit in 23rd spot after losing six of their last eight games.
Club chairman Ken Anderson, who is keen to sell the club after a turbulent couple of seasons, has recently insisted that he is doing his "utmost to sell" the club.
But Anderson, in a club statement, has disputed any rumours claiming that buyers from Turkey and a North West consortium backed by Russia are in talks to buy the club, with the former also stating that he wants to be "open and transparent" with Bolton fans.
He said: "As far as l am aware, the comments about a Turkish buyer are pure fiction and to the best of my knowledge are yet more speculation that seems to have been generated by the media."
"There have also been various other postings about a North West consortium backed by Russian money. Again, this is pure fiction."
"Unfortunately, a number of people like to portray that they know more than they actually do and speculate on what’s happening and generally speaking, it bears no relation to the truth and reality of what is really happening."
There had been reports claiming that former Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton was the "key man" in an ambitious £25million bid from a sports agency who are backed by British financiers and foreign investment, but it remains to be seen if that story is also factual or not.
Regardless, Bolton fans will be praying for a change of ownership before it's too late, and here, we take a look at their reactions to this latest update from Anderson...
