Nottingham Forest are set for a big summer once again as Martin O'Neill looks to build a team capable of challenging for promotion.

The Reds fell just short of making a proper run at the play-offs last term, but will no doubt once again be busy in the transfer market this summer just as they have been in the last three windows.

However, it looks like the club could be set to move some players out of the club, and according to Alan Nixon, high earners such as Joao Carvalho and Hillal Soudani could be two of the first out the door.

According to the respected journalist, owner Evangelos Maranakis could move some of his Forest players to his other club, Olympiakos over in Greece as he looks to balance the books and ensure that Forest don't ultimately run into any trouble with FFP regulations.

Carvalho was in and out of the team last season but was not fancied so much by Martin O'Neill during the run-in despite being a high profile signing just last summer.

For Soudani, he also struggled for form and fitness, notching just two goals for Forest as they struggled to get the best out of their summer signing.

The Verdict

This comes as a surprise in some capacity but then it's also not a massive shock either.

Maranakis seems to have interests in both clubs obviously, and Carvalho and Soudani have both hardly set the world alight.

Carvalho is the stranger one of the two if he does leave, as it's clear he has tremendous ability. It might just be a case of things not quite working out for the Portuguese youngster.
