Aston Villa will look to replace striker Tammy Abraham, when his move to Wolves goes through as expected.

The on-loan Chelsea man has 16 goals for the campaign, making him Villa's top scorer. However, the Blues are expected to recall the 21-year-old to send him to the Premier League side for the remainder of the season.

The latest reports suggest that Wanderers want a deal to be finalised quickly so that he can feature against Manchester City next week.

Obviously, that would be a massive blow for Dean Smith, although he does have Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan to call on.

Yet, Sky Sports have revealed that Villa are keen on replacing Abraham and will look to the loan market to do so.

They add that Financial Fair Play restrictions will prevent the West Midlands side from making a big-money move in this window.

Villa were unable to play Abraham in Saturday's FA Cup tie against Swansea, with Hogan leading the line.

Unfortunately, the former Brentford man, and the rest of the side, had a tough afternoon, with Smith's men losing 3-0.

The Verdict

This is good news for Villa as it had previously been suggested that they wouldn't look to replace Abraham.

In reality, they are unlikely to get someone of a similar standard but fans will be glad to see the club will be on the lookout.

With Kodjia inconsistent and Hogan seriously struggling for form, it makes a lot of sense and it will be interesting to see who they can attract.
