The Bolton Wanderers squad still don't know when they will be paid their March wages as they gear up for today's game against Derby County.

Successive defeats at home to Ipswich and Middlesbrough has left the Trotters nine point from safety with just five games remaining, so relegation is inevitable.

However, the club have bigger concerns than that, with a takeover for the Championship strugglers still yet to go through.

And, the Bolton News has revealed that the players are growing increasingly angry that their salaries for March have yet to be paid.

Owner Ken Anderson remains out of the country and a court order will be needed to allow a payment to be made given the situation Wanderers are in.

As well as that, Anderson has tried to get help from the PFA to avoid a two-window embargo that's likely to impact the club.

Boss Phil Parkinson admitted to the paper that it's seriously harming the squad.

"It is concerning. You know the players feel they have had the stuffing knocked out of them in this situation and it’s almost a case of trying to unscramble everyone’s heads."

The Verdict

It's quite ridiculous that we're nearly halfway through the following month and the Bolton players still haven't been paid.

The reprieve the club were given in the High Court recently was a massive bonus but things need sorting and it's not happening.

This update is concerning and action needs to be taken to sort this.
