Sheffield Wednesday have seen their young goalkeeper Cameron Dawson join Chesterfield on an emergency loan deal that is set to last 28 days.
The men from Hillsborough haven’t had the best campaign so far but young Dawson isn’t going to get a look-in at the moment anyway.
Wildsmith and Westwood are well ahead of him in the pecking order and so it is vital for him to get as many senior minutes as possible as he looks to develop.
A move not too far away to Chesterfield is ideal, then, and it remains to be seen now how he gets on as he looks set to be thrown straight into the League Two action.
Indeed, that is according to Dom Howson on Twitter who has revealed that Dawson will be in-line to start for the Spireites at home to Barnet this weekend:
Goalkeeper Cameron Dawson has agreed to join Chesterfield on an emergency loan. Will remain with the #Spireites initially for 28 days. He's likely to make his Chesterfield debut at home to Barnet this Saturday. #SWFC

Wednesday fans will be interested to see how he gets on in senior game, then, and if he can perform well over this short spell perhaps he’ll stake a claim to get nearer the first team in the future.
The Owls’ goalkeeper options are quite good, though, and so Dawson would really have to go some in these coming weeks.
