Ryan Edmondson could be the next big talent at Leeds to transition from the youth team into a first-team regular, and the striker is eagerly anticipating the upcoming season.

The 18-year-old got his first taste of first team action this season, making a substitute appearance in the home match against Birmingham.

And he seems determined to get more chances next season, having already begun training in preparation for what could be his breakthrough season.

A recent Twitter post of his shows what he is capable of, striking a volley into the top corner from outside the box following a long ball played from the halfway line.

 

His caption alongside the post highlights his anticipation ahead of the new season. It reads: "Next season needs to hurry up", and suggests the player is confident in his ability and his chances of breaking into Marcelo Bielsa's plans.

The Verdict

Leeds fans haven't yet had the opportunity to see Ryan Edmondson in action - except for that game against Birmingham - but they will love to see a young hungry youth player determined to impress.

It remains to be seen whether Bielsa will offer him this chance, but the signs that Edmondson showing are good, and he could be the next big player to come out of their academy.
