Stat guru, Playmakerstats (@playmaker_EN), has revealed that Brentford are currently on the longest unbeaten run in the Sky Bet Championship, heading into this weekend’s clash with Leeds United at Griffin Park.

Dean Smith’s side are unbeaten in their last eight Championship fixtures, picking up 16 from a possible 24 points, which has lifted the Bees to 15th in the table, helping them recover from a poor start to the season.

That unbeaten run is the current longest in the Championship, and Brentford will be looking to extend that this weekend when Leeds visit Griffin Park on Saturday evening.

Leeds enter the contest in contrasting form to Brentford, despite currently sitting seventh in the Championship table. Thomas Christiansen’s side have suffered six defeats in their last eight fixtures, including back-to-back losses at Elland Road in the past week, with Sheffield United and Derby County both beating Leeds 2-1.

Christiansen will be able to draw positives from the fact that Brentford have won at Griffin Park just once in their eight game unbeaten run, with Smith’s side a lot more impressive away from home. Leeds also picked up their last victory away from Elland Road, recording a 3-0 victory against Bristol City.

The Verdict

Brentford have been excellent recently, whilst Leeds have been atrocious, which will worry Leeds’ supporters heading into this Saturday’s clash at Griffin Park.

After such a worrying run of form, it is vital that Leeds pick up a positive result this weekend, with Christiansen’s side currently heading into the international break on a miserable run.

Leeds appear to be better away from Elland Road, but Brentford will be extremely confident of adding to Christiansen’s troubles, particularly after how Leeds have played in recent home fixtures.
