Despite not picking up any points against Millwall on Saturday afternoon, there was plenty for Leeds United to be positive about, with Thomas Christiansen’s side showing incredible spirit to fight back and almost take something from a game that appeared gone at half-time.

Leeds were 2-0 down and playing with 10-men at half-time, but Pierre-Michel Lasogga spearheaded an epic comeback, which saw Christiansen’s side storm into a 3-2 lead, before two late goals sank the Whites.

Lasogga has endured a tough couple of months, but rediscovered his goalscoring touch on Saturday, bagging his sixth and seventh goals of the Championship season for the Whites.

Leeds stat guru, Chris Taylor (@LUFCDATA), has been looking at Lasogga’s goalscoring record this season, highlighting that the 26-year-old has the third best minutes per goal ratio in the Championship for strikers scoring more than seven times, with only Matej Vydra and Lewis Grabban holding a better record.

Lasogga has bagged a goal every 141 minutes, finding himself above the likes of Leon Clarke, Leo Bonatini and Britt Assombalonga and Bobby Reid, who are right up there with the top scorers in the division.

Another Leeds player to feature in that particular list is Kemar Roofe, who bagged his eighth Championship goal of the season on Saturday, meaning he has a goal every 212 minutes this campaign.

The Verdict

Lasogga has found the Championship tough going, but Saturday was probably his best performance in a Leeds shirt, particularly second-half.

The striker won aerial duels throughout the contest, and both his goals in the second-half were excellent finishes.

Leeds need a striker to step up, and Saturday will give Elland Road hope that Lasogga can be that man.
