Sharp, 31, scored 30 goals in League One last season, and has marked his return to the Championship by continuing to score goals for the Blades. The striker has found the back of the net on five occasions from his nine league appearances so far this season, including the eventual winner in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Reading at Bramall Lane.
Paul Coutts scored the opening goal of the game, before Sharp scored his fifth goal of the season late in the first-half, putting Chris Wilder’s side in a commanding position. Roy Beerens pulled a goal back for Reading in the 85th minute, but the Blades managed to secure all three-points, which helped them keep pace with second placed, Cardiff City.
Sharp leads the Blades back into Championship action on Friday evening, when they face Leeds United at Elland Road.
Sharp’s goalscoring record is incredible, with the 31-year-old striker seemingly getting better with age.
The Blades are not as reliant on Sharp as they were last season, but the striker is still proving to come up with vital goals at crucial times in the Championship.
If the Blades are to continue their magnificent form, Sharp’s experience will be key.
