Stat guru, StatZone (@StatZoneSports), has revealed some of the exceptional stats behind Darren Randolph’s start to the season with Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship.

Randolph is likely to be in action for the Republic of Ireland this week when they face Denmark, with Martin O’Neill’s side looking to secure a place at next summer’s Word Cup in Russia. The Boro goalkeeper was in action during Saturday’s first-leg, helping the Irish hold Denmark to a goalless draw.

Ahead of Tuesday’s second-leg, @StatZoneSports have looked at Randolph’s club form this season, highlighting how impressive he has been in his 16 Championship appearances under Garry Monk at Middlesbrough.

The summer signing has made 34 saves so far this season, helping Boro keep seven clean sheets in their 16 fixtures this term.

Randolph’s seventh clean sheet of the season came prior to the international break, when Boro held on to beat Sunderland 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium, with Monk owing a lot to his Irish goalkeeper, who made a string of excellent first-half saves.

Following international duty this week, Randolph will return to Middlesbrough, who face a trip to Elland Road where they will come up against Leeds United on Sunday lunchtime.

The Verdict

Randolph has proved to be an excellent addition at the Riverside Stadium this season, and his stats are pretty impressive.

The Irish goalkeeper has a wealth of experience, which is helping Boro gradually move up the Championship table.

Monk will be hoping that his goalkeeper can continue to impress for Ireland, before returning to the Riverside for a run of testing Championship fixtures.
