Sheffield United have been sensational in the Sky Bet Championship this season, with Chris Wilder’s side looking like an outfit who could mount a serious promotion push this season.

The Blades have failed to win any of their last three Championship fixtures, but still sit in a strong position, with Wilder’s side currently fourth in the table heading into the festive period.

There have been plenty of exceptional individual performers at Bramall Lane this season, particularly Leon Clarke, who has spearheaded the Blades’ surge for promotion back to the Premier League.

Clarke has bagged 13 goals in the Championship so far this season, with @SkyBet revealing that the striker has scored more league goals than Harry Kane has for Tottenham, Neymar at PSG and Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old is currently the Championship’s top scorer heading into December, and during November produced an incredible run of performances, with the striker in the best form of his career.

Clarke sensationally scored nine goals across four fixtures last month, including hat-tricks in the victory over Hull City and epic 5-4 defeat to Fulham.

The Verdict

Of course, Clarke is not at the same level as the likes of Kane, Neymar of Ronaldo, but this stat reveals just how impressive the striker’s goalscoring record this season is.

Clarke is perhaps the form striker in the Championship, and his goals have put Sheffield United in an extremely strong position this season.

Wilder will be turning to the striker to lead his side out of a difficult spell of form.
