Queens Park Rangers have experienced an encouraging start to life under manager Mark Warburton since the 50-year-old's arrival at the club earlier this summer.

After kicking off their 2019/20 campaign with a victory over Stoke City, the Hoops followed up this display with a spirited performance against Huddersfield Town.

Whilst back-to-back defeats to Bristol City and Swansea City brought the R's back down to earth, their recent wins over Wigan Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday have been particularly impressive.

With the club currently in the middle of an international break, Warburton has decided to turn his focus to off-the-field matters in recent days by overseeing Olamide Shodipo's contract extension.

As confirmed by the club's official website, the winger has agreed to extend his stay until 2022.

Shodipo, who has is currently out of action due to injury, is highly-rated at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and thus it would not be at all surprising if he ends up causing a real stir in the Championship.

Having successfully negotiated new terms with the 22-year-old, it is paramount that the R's now focus on sealing a deal for another one of their talented players in the coming weeks.

Since joining the club in January 2017 from Belgian side Lierse, Ilias Chair has made a rapid rise to prominence.

After initially being used by the Hoops in their youth set-up, a string of impressive performances from the midfielder resulted in him being handed his debut by then-boss Ian Holloway in a 1-0 victory over Northampton Town.

Although he was used sparingly for the rest of the 2017/18 campaign, Chair's loan spell at Stevenage last season allowed him to illustrated his wide array of skills on a weekly basis.

As well as scoring a total of six goals for the Boro, the midfielder demonstrated a real eye for a pass as he ended the year with six assists to his name.

Whilst Chair was unable to propel Stevenage to the play-offs earlier this year, the consistency that he showed during this particular spell has allowed to make major inroads into the Hoops' plans for the current campaign.

After scoring his first goal of the season against Bristol City in the Carabao Cup, the midfielder provided a sumptuous assist for Jordan Hugill in the R's' defeat to Swansea.

When you consider just how impressive Chair was during last weekend's victory at Hillsborough, it is clear that the Hoops must do everything they can to tie him down to a new contract with his current deal set to expire next summer (via Transfermarkt).

Given that the Morocco Under-23 international possesses all the ingredients needed to become a quality operator at Championship level in the not too distant future, the R's cannot afford to rest on their laurels as doing so could result in the midfielder moving elsewhere.
