Latest player blow comes at a poor time for Brentford this season

Sergi Canos has been one of the shining lights for Brentford so far this season and has been excellent on the wing for the Bees under manager Thomas Frank.

Canos’ excellent displays on the flanks, supplying the likes of Ollie Watkins with crosses to attack, and his quick feet to work his way past a player have caused opposition defences panic all season long.

Canos signed a new four-year deal with the club this week, making sure that the Spaniard is due to stay with the EFL Championship longer, and secure the club more money if the winger was to depart for another club anytime soon.

However, the blow of losing Canos for a significant period of time and leave Brentford a man down on the flanks has left Thomas Frank with a decision to make, as he debates who will take the Spaniard’s spot for now. Canos has supplied goal-getter Watkins with a few goals already this season, and is Brentford’s creator-in-chief.

Canos is one of those players who keeps every supporter watching on their seats, never scared to take somebody on and find a cross for a team-mate or have a go for goal himself when he gets sight of the net. However, Canos being ruled out is sure to disappoint the fans, who have already been raving about the winger’s displays this campaign.

The Brentford fans will now be certain that their season is going to take a turn for the worse, after their creative playmaker who can operate as a number ten or on the wings won’t be assisting any goals for a while.

Canos gets supporters off their seats and everything good that Brentford seem to have done so far this season has come through the 22-year-old, but Brentford fans won’t be getting too downhearted with Watkins and Said Benrahma still ready to lead Brentford’s attack game by game unless the pair of them suffer any injuries.

Brentford fans will be keenly praying that Canos’ injury isn’t as bad as first feared and that he can work himself back to full fitness before returning to training and getting back out on the pitch. Until then, Brentford fans have to pray that their star playmaker is back soon.
