It isn't even June, the play-offs haven't even finished, and yet already Stoke City's much discussed and badly summer transfer window overhaul of their is already well underway.

Having endured a thoroughly underwhelming first campaign back in the Championship for a decade - where they were many people's favourites for promotion no less - manager Nathan Jones has long since made it clear that he was planning a raft of changes to his playing side, and so far, he has been as good as his word.

The club have already announced the departures of the experienced but now rarely used out of contract trio of Charlie Adam; Darren Fletcher and Jakob Haugaard.

It seems the club have already set about bringing in new faces that will bring a fresh look to the side, and with it, fresh hopes of a return to the Premier League.

According to The Sun, The Potters are already set to announce a trio of new signings in the coming days, with Millwall striker Lee Gregory; Wigan midfielder Nick Powell; and Barnsley goalkeeper Adam Davies all set to make the move to the bet365 Stadium.

That Stoke are getting these deals done so early is a hugely promising sign for those around the club.

No one at Stoke appears to be under any illusion that these three, while all high quality signings, will be enough to get them back to the Premier League by themselves, but they are a step in the right direction.

Only the bottom two sides - Ipswich and Bolton - found the net less than Stoke in the Championship this season, but the finishing ability of Gregory and the ruthless attacking instinct of Powell will surely go some way to changing that.

At the other end, the arrival of Davies will go some way to off setting the loss of Jack Butland, should he make the move to a Premier League side.

Given how quickly these deals have been done, it also means there is more than enough time for Stoke to bring in those other new faces to push them back towards the Premier League.

After what has been a far from thrilling return to the Championship, Stoke are already making the sort of moves that suggest next season will be significantly different at the bet365 Stadium, and that will surely start to build the excitement amongst the Stoke supporters once again.
