Leeds United appear to have set out their plan should they decide to cash in on Jack Clarke this summer.

According to a report from Football Insider, the Whites could bet set to negotiate a deal with interested parties which would see them receive a hefty fee for the youngster, while also being able to retain his services in the form of a loan move next season.

Clarke is expected to attract a flurry of bids in the coming weeks, with Spurs the latest club to be linked with making a move for the teenager winger.

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa put plenty of faith in Clarke throughout the course of the campaign and will be hoping to see more from his young talent if he decides to stay on at Elland Road next season and lead the Whites to another run at promotion.

Despite making less than 30 appearances in his young Elland Road career, Clarke has done enough to suggest that he is going to go right to the top, and Leeds' coaching staff will be well aware they they face a big battle to keep hold of him while they remain in the Championship.

Clarke himself would no doubt relish a move to the Premier League, but will also be acutely aware that first-team opportunities might be at a premium at a club like Spurs.

The Verdict

This would be the sort of move what would make the most sense for Leeds if they do decide to sell Clarke.

Getting him back on loan would be a massive bonus for the club and Clarke would no doubt be given a solid run at the first XI next season, especially if Bielsa stays put.

Leeds still need to ensure they get a big fee for Clarke, but at least his return in the coming year would cushion the blow further.
