Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth aim to make it second time lucky this evening at The Valley after their clash on Saturday was postponed late on by a waterlogged pitch.

The Addicks and Pompey both consider themselves a promotion challenger this season and so, naturally, the stakes are high ahead of this clash in SE7.

With that in mind, then, the Addicks’ team news is going to be important and things are largely the same fitness-wise from Saturday, but there’s obviously now some new faces in contention.

In terms of injuries, then, Ryan Inniss remains out but the extra few days could allow Akin Famewo to make a return – though the weekend is more likely for him.

Conor Washington is set to miss out thanks to a knock picked up against MK Dons but Ian Maatsen should return to the side after sitting out that win in Milton Keynes.

In terms of new personnel, Matt Smith is eligible to make his debut after joining on loan from Arsenal but fellow Deadline Day arrival Diallang Jaiysemi did not see his move go through in time for registration and so he will have to wait for his debut.

Of course, Jonny Williams and Marcus Maddison will not be part of the squad with both leaving on the final day of the window.

Likely XI (4-1-2-1-2): Amos; Gunter, Pearce, Oshilaja, Maatsen; Pratley, Shinnie, Millar, Smith; Stockley, Aneke.
